I realized that don’t have many pictures with me and Camila. They are all of her alone or with the boys. So while Hector was out playing golf we had a mini photo session with Marco as the photographer. He got a few good ones, but then got bored with it and went on to do something else.

Bumbo seat- take II
Contemplating her next move… oh wait, she is stuck in the bumbo
We went to see a good friend today and she mentioned that Camila looked a lot like Joaquin from a side view. What do you think??? All I see are cheeks!! (Not so sure about your observation, but love ya anyway Kellie)

Sister Sandwich
Some days when Hector gets home from work the boys like to jump on top of him and make a “Papi sandwich”. So today we made our version of a “sister sandwich”. I had to explain that there will be no sitting/jumping/lying on their sister for quite some time, if ever.
Marco is always asking to hold Camila so I try to give him every opportunity to do so. It must be the way they are sitting in this pic, but Camila looks so much bigger than 3 months.
Love both of their expressions in this one. I think soon after this was taken, Camila was done sitting with Marco.

Easter 2011
Camila was not really feeling the whole picture taking thing at the beginning. Marco had to hold on tight as she tried to wiggle free.
Take two was much better. Even though she didn’t smile, we got a few shots of all the kids. Unfortunately not a one of them had them all looking at the camera at the same time. Good thing we are not professionals.
I think this one is funny because Marco was starting to loose his grip on Camila and Joaquin looks so sneaky peeking out behind Marco’s shoulder.
Her first Easter outfit. Thank you Priscilla!
And of course we can’t forget the egg hunt.

Escuela activities
II love Marco’s preschool because they do so many fun activities and they have lots of programs for the parents to attend. Recently they had a Wheels Day fundraiser and every kid brought a bike to ride laps around the school. Marco was a little disappointed that he had to bring Joaquin’s bike but they did not allow 2-wheel bikes. Because Marco’s bike doesn’t have training wheels (and I wasn’t about to try to find them in the garage somewhere and put them on!) he had to bring what we call the green monster.
Every Easter they have a small parade where the kids show off the hats they made. Each class makes a different hat and it is fun to see all the designs and hear them sing a few songs.

Boys and Bugs!
For the past two weeks we wake up every morning to a plethora of june bugs on our front porch. These little creatures have become the boys’ new playmates. They like to have them crawl on their arms and they even made a little home for them one day from a shoebox. Joaquin is not as gentle with them as Marco is, and he likes to stomp on them or even squash them between his fingers. GROSS!! I wonder how long they will hang around and how much longer I will have to sweep them off my door step.
We do not encourage the squeezing of june bugs.
** Disclaimer**No june bugs were hurt in this photo shoot
Here is a little roly poly that J thought would like to live in the june bug house.
We also planted some watermelons from seeds. Here are the beginning sprouts. It will soon be time to transplant them to the ground and see what happens. I LOVE a cool, crisp slice of watermelon any day of the week!

Another cute outfit!
I love this little outfit a friend of mine gave Camila. She went to her first Easter egg hunt/party Monday and everyone commented how cute it was. I love the fact that it is 1. adorable 2. Fancier than a onesie, yet snaps like one 3. does not require any extra shorts, bloomers, etc 4. Last but not least, she doesn’t need a hair bow (aka brain squeezer) for people to not ask if she is a boy or a girl. :)
To swaddle or not to swaddle, that is the question
Camila is almost 3 months and has liked the swaddle blanket at night…. up until last night. I think her swaddling days are numbered. This is how I found her this morning. She fights her arms so much that one usually breaks free and is sticking out the top while the other is trapped inside. So yes, out goes the swaddle blanket and with that also come a change to bedtime location. It is now time to put this little girl in her own room, sleeping in the crib and not the pack n play next to our bed. We shall see how she likes this change of scenery.

First tooth fairy visit
Yea!! Marco lost his first tooth. And who knew it would be such an ordeal. A couple of weeks ago I noticed one of his bottom teeth shifting and lo and behold his permanent tooth was coming in behind the baby one. After hearing a story about this happening to a friend of ours, (and that little boy had to go to the dentist to get his pulled) I made up my mind that we would get this thing out the good old fashion way…… wiggling the heck out of it. Marco was very hesitant at first to let Hector or I even touch it, much less give it a slight wiggle. He would show us how he wiggled it, but I suspected his hand was moving more than the tooth was. So after about a week of this I decided that we needed to take action. We even got to the point of having a string tied around the tooth and the back door, but Marco just couldn’t follow through with slamming the door and I didn’t want to traumatize him by doing it myself after I already promised that I would let him do it at his own pace. So Friday morning I was on my 3rd wiggle (Marco was letting me have 5 wiggles after each morning and nighttime brushing) and I really felt like I could just pull that thing right out. But we were already late for school so I told him we would try again after lunch. And wouldn’t you know, after lunch on the 2nd try I got that tooth right out. When I did, he didn’t even realize it. I had to hold it up and show it to him. Hopefully him realizing that losing a tooth doesn’t really hurt all that bad and that the bleeding is minimal will help with future loose teeth. (that, and the fact that the tooth fairy left him a dollar and later that day we got Rita’s Italian ice as a treat)
He was very proud of the new hole in his mouth. Everywhere we went, he would smile at people and ask if something looked different about him. The funny part is, he would do this to random people like the lady behind the counter at Rita’s who had no clue he just lost the tooth hours before.
This shot almost doesn’t even look like he lost a tooth because you can see the permanent one so well.

Tummy Time Anyone?
I think it is funny when every time I have Camila do tummy time one (or both) of the boys set themselves up right next to her and have their own tummy time. They like to arch their neck and back and show off their own muscles. The first time they did this, I thought they were joking around. But no, they were really serious about me looking at how strong their neck was. Yes boys, good to know yall can hold your head up and look side to side. This is one proud mama! :)
C: “Hey Joaquin, over here look at me. I’m doing it.” Hurry because I can’t keep this up much longer.”
And now it looks like they are both done with tummy time for the day.

One of a kind!
Now, how could a mother deny a face like that. Well, she can’t. This is just a classic Joaquin photo. He is definitely a feisty little guy. His personality is coming through more and more these days. I don’t like to put labels on kids or refer to stereotypes, but I think he is going to be a classic middle child… very animated, funny, mischievous, a little quirky, looks up to older brother and dotes on little sister. He is definitely one of a kind, and I love him so much!

Bumbo seat
This is the first time in her bumbo seat. We never had one of these for the boys, so it will be fun to try something new. She liked it for all of 2 minutes and then she was done. And when I tried to get her out of it I had to pry her little chubby legs out of it. Too bad we didn’t get a picture of that!

Gifts from friends
Thank you to my wonderful friends who graciously gave Camila lots of cute, girly stuff. Love this “little sister” shirt my friend Jamie gave me. Now I just need to get a good picture of the boys and her wearing this shirt.
And here I am rockin my flower power shirt my Auntie Mariam gave me. The jelly shoes don’t quite fit yet but when they do I will be stylin’ in those too! Thank you Auntie Mariam!!!

Movie time
The boys have a big box of VHS movies their Aunt Stacy gave them awhile back and we are just now interested in watching them. There are a bunch of Disney classics that they have never seen so we usually watch a new one each week. They really enjoyed Cinderella.
The three amigos. Aren’t they cute! (there cousin Nancy is in the middle)
