Yep, its that time again

Every year we cut the boys’ hair for their “summer do”.  This year we did it a little early as the weather has been warm and with all the bike riding they do (with helmets of course) they are a sweaty mess by the end of the day.  I first Joaquin wasn’t to sure about the whole process since he obviously doesn’t get many haircuts.  But after it was all said and done he loved his new hair.  He was constantly looking at his reflection in the windows saying, “oh cool, I love this, I look awesome!”  Well Quin, your barber is glad you like your new do.

Time to read

Usually Camila is in bed way before the boys but tonight was a different story.  Since she wasnt fussy, we let her say up and join the nighttime reading of the books in the boys’ room.  It was so funny, because even though she is holding the book upside down, she was really acting like she was reading it.  All the while, Papi is reading a different story to the boys.  When he would pause between pages, she would start to “talk” about her story until he started up again.  It was so funny to watch.

Fishing Anyone?

Ever since seeing a boy in his class fishing with his Grandpa at a local park, Marco has talked nonstop about when he will get to go fishing.  Now, I am up for almost anything, but fishing is just not one of them.  I kept telling him to ask his Papi about that.  But the other day Marco found the never used pole on a shelf in the garage and took it upon himself to learn.  Thankfully there was not a hook at the end.  He practiced casting the line from our driveway to the neighbor’s across the street.  Once he had that down, it took fishing to the extreme.  Who knows what new idea he will think of next!

Good form, now just don't fall off that bench.  I think at one point he launched the bobber over the fence

Just ridin’ with my homies

We found out a couple of weeks ago that Camila loves riding in the Jeep with the boys.  It doesn’t get much use since it goes so slow, but that is the perfect speed for her.I guess we will keep it around for when she can be a driver

Intense concentration right here

Circus Time

IMG_7335
Joaquin in his tiger cage
IMG_7336
He had a circus at school and his class were tigers.  I asked him why he was in a cage all by himself and he said,"because I am the most ferocious!"
IMG_7338
Yep, looking pretty scary right there Mr. Tiger

Take a quick look, because that is about all the time you will have before she notices the bow in her hair and starts to pull it out
IMG_7348
but thankfully I don't have to do much with these perfect curls

now this front part that is straight, that is another story.  So wish she would keep even a little bow in it to help it look better

This one is for you, Nonni!

Just last week Joaquin decided that he was ready to put his pedals on his “balance bike”.  To start we just take the pedals off of a regular bike until the rider is able to balance and push off with their feet. This is the way Marco learned to ride his bike and it worked like a charm for Joaquin too.  It was a little slow going at first, but once Joaquin figured out how to get started there was no stopping him.  I also think his favorite blue panda socks that Nonni gave him  had something to do with it.  IMG_7311 IMG_7312 IMG_7313

I know these next few pictures of Camila are so unflattering ( and she will probably hate me later after seeing them) but I just had to post them.  See Nonni, this is what she looked like when I was talking to you the other day and I wouldnt give her the phone.  She will just have to learn she won’t always get her way.
