Camila’s new skirt

I decided to whip out the old sewing machine and make Camila a skirt to jazz up the plain onesies I have been putting her in this summer.  The first skirt I made was WAY to long (but I saved it for when she is two!).  When making this one, I thought it looked like a ruffled piece of scrap material.  That is how long it was…. barely 3 inches.  But it worked perfectly.

When I first saw this photo I thought, “Now where did that little puff of hair come from”  Then I realized it was just part of the blankets pattern.  Silly me!  And look, even Camila is surprised that the skirt turned out good!

Just like every baby her age, she loves to chew on just about anything.  So I am constantly telling the boys to keep their hands away from her mouth.  The response I get most of the time is “but she just put them in there!”  Yeah right boys, I don’t believe it for a second.

This is her most favorite object to put in her mouth at the moment..

Bath time X 3

This was the first time we tried Camila in her bath seat.  Joaquin loved this thing at her age and now that she is starting to sit up better we though we would give it a try.  She liked it for all of 5 min. but I think she will get use to it.  The boys sure enjoyed her being in the tub with them.

C and J

Camila is almost 5 months old and is starting to do some new things.  She is trying to sit up with minimal support and if I prop her up just right she can sit up on the couch.  She also enjoys when her brothers talk to her and Marco has even been able to make her laugh a few times.  Joaquin just mostly gets in her face (usually a little too close) and she doesn’t enjoy that too much.  But this afternoon Quin was being really good with her, giving kisses and the like.  I also love this quilt/blanket my neighbor made for Camila.

Summer Wedding #2

This weekend we travelled to Waco to attend Collin and Pablo’s wedding.  The boys had so much fun, and Camila is getting better at road trips.  This time we decided to take the pack n play instead of relying on the hotel’s crib “of uncertainty”.  This hotel was nicer than the one in Abilene so I’m sure their crib would have been just fine.  IMG_5342 IMG_5355

Lego Creations and Missing Teeth

Yesterday we went to the dentist and both boys did so well.  They both got xrays and their teeth cleaned. I am happy to report NO cavities!!  The dentist did offer to take Marco’s super wiggly front tooth out on the spot, but I had already told Marco that he would not have to worry about the dentist pulling that tooth.  Whoops, strike one for Mommy.  I gave Marco his options and he choose to have me pull it at home.  So later that day I got a washcloth and pulled that tooth out of his little head.  :)  Even as wiggly as it was, it took two good yanks to get it out.  But he is now so proud of the giant hole it created.  Now he sticks his straws through it to drink.

And the feet are found..

Camila has officially found her feet.  They are her new favorite toy and she likes to hold onto them as she rolls back and forth. IMG_5299 IMG_5300 IMG_5301 IMG_5302 IMG_5312

Joaquin just being… well, typical Joaquin.

Abilene Zoo

Since we stayed the night in a hotel after the wedding we decided to find something fun to do Sunday morning.  Abilene has a nice, small scale zoo and since it was only $10 for all of us to get in why not just go check it out.  The highlight of the trip was feeding the giraffes.  For $1 you got 4 large crackers to feed them.  I think all these giraffes at were crackers because the people just kept coming with the crackers.  Their tongues are so long and seem to just “sniff” those crackers out!

This pic was my favorite.  Just look at that tongue!

Another crazy experience was feeding the fish.  There were so many of them, and they just flopped on top of each other to get the food.

It was pretty hot that day, and I think by this point Camila had had enough of the zoo.

I usually don’t take pictures of animals just standing there, but these two birds were some of the strangest looking birds I have ever seen!  And I don’t even know their names.
