It’s a GIRL!!!

 Camila Graciela Patino, born 1/25/2011 at 0000( that would be exactly midnight!) 

Weight  8 lb 9 oz  Length 20 in    This picture cracks me up.  We didn’t tell the boys it was a girl until they got to the hospital.  As you can see, Marco is very happy his wish for a baby sister came true.  Joaquin on the other hand…. well he wanted a little brother.  But he perked up quickly when he got to give her a kiss on the forehead.

The other day Marco said that his teacher at school asked him if the new baby will be a boy or girl.  They have heard me say so many times that it is going to be a surprise, so he knew to say the same to his teacher.  But when she asked what the names would be, he was stumped.  So for a few days after that I reminded him what the names would be for either a boy or girl.  Just yesterday I randomly asked him if he remembered the names I told him. For a girl, he totally forgot so I gave him a hint.  I said it starts with the letter C and sounds like “Ca”.  He quickly says, “Oh yeah I know, I know its Cabela!”  I just cracked up laughing telling him no, no that is a store you go to with Papi.  Then when I asked him about the boy name he quickly responds, “Oh, that one is easy.  Its Pateo.  You know, like potato.”  Again this makes me laugh but at least he is a little closer this time.  Wow, I have one week to make sure he gets the name right or we may have some strange nicknames for this poor baby. 

Joaquin’s 3 year pics

I finally got around to getting Joaquin’s 3 year pictures done.  We had to wait until after the Christmas rush but I’m sure he didn’t change much in the few weeks between his actual birthday and now.  And even though the Target picture lady is very nice and she has done our past few sessions, I’m pretty sure she hates to see me come in.  I don’t know if they work off commission, but I always go in with a coupon and only get the $7.99 package or the $3.99/sheet deal.  Even though each time they try to sell me the $100+ package deal.  When will they every learn…. to stop sending me coupons.  :)

Likes: Thomas the Train, Cars, blueberries, ramen noodles, gymnastics, playing with Marco, “helping” mommy cook, gummy vitamins (would eat them like candy if I let him)

Dislikes: warm bath water(prefers it cold even in the winter time), broccoli, pizza dough (will only eat the toppings and cheese). being bossed around by Marco

    This one is a perfect representation of Joaquin and how he likes to stick is tongue out all the time.  I think he is going to have permanent chapped lips because he is always licking them.

A little bit of snow

Marco’s wish came true….. It finally snowed.  Although it was just a dusting and melted soon after it hit the ground, there was just enough to make a few snowballs.
