Camila 10 Months

This makes me think of old man, bitter beer face.

Her expression here screams, “Yeah, what are you looking at?”

I’m a pro at getting up and down.  I think I had to put a pillow on the ground for the boys at this stage.  She can stand on her own for a few seconds before dropping to the ground, but after a few times, she won’t even put any weight on her legs to stand.  I think it is her way of saying, “no thanks, I’m good right here close to the ground.”  I don’t see her being an early walker, but then again, none of mine were.

Look Mom, I can do the splits.  I’m pretty sure I was NEVER able to do the splits, even at this age.  Hell, I’m still working on getting the cartwheel down.

Thanksgiving 2011

We made our annual trek to Brady this year, but this was the first time we have ever taken a picture of this sign in the town square.  My friend Molly just had a baby boy and named him Brady so she requested Hector break the law by taking one of the Welcome Brady signs posted outside of town. We told her maybe next time, and will this picture do for now?   IMG_6440 IMG_6448

The boys had a good time hanging out with Tio Felipe and Tio Oscar.

Sometimes the only pics I get of me are when I take them myself.

My little Braves

Both boys had a Thanksgiving program at their school this year.  Joaquin had a Pow Wow complete with dancing and singing.  The funniest part was after each class sang, the kids did their best Indian war cry, and EVERY time Camila grabbed my shirt and buried her head in my shoulder.  You would think that after the first 3 or 4 songs she would know what was coming, but nope, each time was like the first time all over again.  Thankfully she never actually cried, but I sure thought she was going to.  At Marco’s school they had a feast at the end of the day, and a feast it was.  It was like carb-central, with their plates filled with chex mix, a giant roll, popcorn, pumpkin pie and pretzels.  Oh, and there was a bit of apple sauce on the side, but I don’t think many kids touched that.

Dallas Cowboys fun

Joaquin yelling “Go Cowboys”

This picture had all of us rolling with laughter in our seats.  Marco took the picture, an d the whole time I thought it would be a nice one of me and Joaquin.  Oh, its nice alright.  HA!  It still makes me laugh everytime I see it.

  IMG_6342

And of course, after laughing at the first pic the next objective seemed to be staged crazy self photos.  So the boys entertained themselves for all of the 2nd quarter with this.

Man, I’m never going to get a shot of everyone smiling, am I?

Halloween Fun 2001

 IMG_6270 IMG_6271

Our pumpkins.  Marco picked the bat design and Joaquin the screaming ghoul.  And guess who was the lucky one to do all the carving…. yup ME!  The best part was eating the seeds after a light toasting in the oven.  YUM!

IMG_6276

Joaquin at his Halloween parade at preschool. I didn’t even think to have him take the mask off while his class performed their song.  Oh well, I could tell he was singing under the mask because he was doing all the hand motions.

IMG_6289

Camila as Tigger.  This Halloween was a bit warm and all her other costume options were too hot.  Thankfully, all of them were hand me downs and can be used next year.

And she’s done with all the picture business.  Apparently chomping on acorns is more entertaining.

Marco and his neighbor friend Audrey.  Not that anybody said this, but Marco states “She is NOT my girlfriend!”

IMG_6317 IMG_6320 IMG_6322

And this is only about 1/4 of the candy they got this year.  Thankfully they are still at the age where I can combine it all into one pile and they don’t fight over it.

IMG_6324

Too bad for her, she only got to “taste” it through the wrapper.

This year the boys would  mispronounce 3 major candy brands.

1) Reeses has become Reesas

2) Snickers is Sneakers

3)Whoopers is now whoop-ers (rhymes with Coopers)
