Batter Up

We frequently switch between playing baseball and soccer.  Today’s sport of choice is baseball.  Joaquin is getting better at hitting the ball.  I also notice how nice and green our grass looks.  I hope we can always keep it this nice.  :)

Day at the Zoo

We finally got a chance to go to the zoo and utilize our membership pass.  It was a great day to go because school has started and it was too early for field trips.  We did get a little rained on, but it was a nice way to cool off.  IMG_2639 IMG_2640 IMG_2642

Marco actually touched a rat snake.  He surprised me by how interested he was in it and didn’t really want to leave the snake table.

IMG_2643

On the other hand, Joaquin was only happy to touch the snake skin.  He didn’t want anything to do with the live snake.

IMG_2644 IMG_2645 IMG_2646 IMG_2647

Not too sure if Joaquin can take a normal picture while on the turtle.  But the faces sure to display how animated he can be.

The boys on the train.  This is Joaquin’s favorite part of the zoo.  He would be happy to ride this short stretch of track all day long.

Randomness

IMG_2453

Joaquin found this piece of Easter candy in the pantry. It is only about 6 months old, so I’m sure it is still good.  :)  It has a lollypop on the other end of it, and I thought it looked so funny when he was sucking on it.

IMG_2584

This would be police/knight/batman Marco.  I think he pulled out all the costume gear for that one.

IMG_2586

And of course not to be outdone, here is knight dracula Joaquin.  Not really sure how he ran around with that sword in his pants, as it is made of wood and fairly long.  At least Marco’s sword was made a soft foam.

Molly’s wedding

This past weekend I was back in the good ol’ town of El Paso to celebrate one of my good friend’s wedding.  It was a great girls weekend as all of the old Tech crew were there.  (Even Emily made it all the way from Hawaii!) IMG_2588

Right after getting my hair and makeup done.  I don’t think I have ever had this much makeup on in my life.  Actually there may be a whole year’s worth of make up in this picture.

IMG_2589

Molly’s sister Cassi and me at the salon we stationed ourselves in for about 4+ hours that day (6 girls all getting their hair and makeup done take a long time!)

IMG_2596

All the girls (plus Jaden) taking a ride on the luggage cart at the hotel.

IMG_2601

Molly just about ready for her big day.  Not too sure if she is excited though.  :)

IMG_2603

All the girls and our pretty flowers in the hotel room waiting for our cue to head to the ballroom.

IMG_2607

One of my good friends Leslie and her baby Peyton (not pictured as the camera cut off the view of her baby bump)  Leslie will kill me for putting this on here, but it cracks me up every time I see it.  After getting her makeup/hair done Leslie self-described herself as an Asian lady with a quincenera hairdo.  (not that there is anything wrong with that, it was just not the look she was going for)  :)  Love ya Les!

Me and Molly

IMG_2620

Me and Carolyn.  She is truly the dancing queen and wouldn’t let us preggos sit for even a moment.  But that is what makes her so much fun!

IMG_2622

More of the Tech girls.  Too bad we all live in different cities and don’t get to see each other often.

IMG_2624

The next day we went to Leslie’s baby shower.  It was a great ending to a wonderful weekend.  Can’t wait to do it again!

Air Hogs baseball game

We experienced our first minor league baseball game, and it was more fun than I expected.  The kids probably had a better time here than they do at the Ranger games we sometimes go to.  This is most likely due to the fact that there is a playground, with a miniature baseball diamond and basketball court to play on as well.  And for us it was better because the ticket/food prices are cheaper, parking is free, and we actually get to sit close enough to see the game.  We will definitely be going back next season.

Just hanging out in the front by the statues.

Marco’s head is almost a perfect fit for this display.

IMG_2579

Joaquin on the other hand had a little more wiggle room.

IMG_2581

My boys doing what they do best….. eating.  But at least they did share with their cousin Nancy.

IMG_2696

The other highlight of the night was getting to run the bases on the big field after the game.

Nancy’s 2nd birthday

The boys’ cousin Nancy turned 2 today, so we went over to their house to celebrate.  Her Hello Kitty cake was very cute, and the pink and purple icing were almost fluorescent.  Who knows how much dye they had to put in there to make it that color.

IMG_2531 IMG_2540 IMG_2555

The boys making sure Nancy knows how to open her presents properly.  (that would be pull out all the paper as fast as you can to see what is in the bag.)

IMG_2561

IMG_2563

Nancy’s mom and dad got her this play doll house.  I think the boys were just as interested in it as she was.  Going over to her house is really the only time they get to play with “girl” stuff.

Bowling with friends

This is the second time the boys have ever been bowling, and they enjoy it so much I’m not sure why we don’t go more often.  It is especially fun with friends, so we will have to do this again next summer.  We received a free pass to bowl one game each day this summer and we only used it once, and a week before it expired at that.  Next time we may be at the bowling alley once a week.

 IMG_2461 IMG_2473  IMG_2494 IMG_2496 IMG_2502  IMG_2486

This is a classic photo of how onlookers probably view us.  2 moms trying to have a conversation while 6 kids play, dance, and try to become a part of the conversation.   We  have so much fun with the Peterman gang.

IMG_2521

Group photo, minus Marco who decided he was done taking pictures.

IMG_2524

Oh wait, NOW Marco decides he wants to be a part of the group.  Too bad the younger ones were in the back row.  I tried to have them stand up but they wanted to do what the bigger kids were doing. Oh well, maybe we will get a better shot next summer.  By then little E will get to be in on the action.

Trip Home and Family Pics

The boys reading up on the emergency procedures, just in case. Joaquin sure does look intense.
