Cousin Time

The boys were so excited to get a visit from Aunt Stacey and cousin Dallas.  Camila even let Dallas hold her for so long that HE was ready to hand her back before she decided she had enough.  (which is usually what happen when someone other than Hector or I hold her)  Good job Dallas…now, when are you available to babysit??  :)

Fireworks.. or NOT!!

After we got home from our trip to Brady the boys wanted to see the Bedford Fireworks. Even though they did not nap a single minute in the car (thanks to the DVD player) at 9:30 they were ready to go.  Since Hector took the boys to see the fireworks in Brady (while I stayed at the house with a sleeping Camila) it was my turn to take them while he had sleeping baby duty. There is a softball field not far from the house that is a popular watching spot so we decided to check it out this year.  They didn’t actually set the fireworks off until 10pm and by that time the boys had been running around with the other kids for 30 min, drank all the water I brought, and were wanting to go home.  And because I wanted to see fireworks this year, I had them lay down in the stroller and go to sleep.  And I walked backwards the whole way home so I could see the finale.  Here is what they looked like once I made it back to our driveway (with the camera flash on)IMG_5519 IMG_5522

Swing time

 IMG_5504

Just trying out the new swing, wishing we had one for inside as Camila only seems to like to take her naps in swings.   She thinks the crib is only for nighttime sleep.

Probably wishing it wasn’t so hot and they would be a little quieter so she could sleep.  Alas, neither one of those occurred.

4th of July 2011

As we do every year, we took at trip down to Brady to Tito and Tita’s house.  The boys always have a great time and this time they had a surprise…..  yep, you guessed it.  A baby goat and something called a barbedo ( I think I spelled that correctly)  It is a cross between a sheep and a goat.  The goat is about 2 months old so it gets  a bottle of cow milk in the morning and evening.  Feeding the goat was the highlight of the day.  That is, until one time the goat sneezed and milk/spit/ snot etc. went flying all over Marco’s shirt.  I think he was done with the goat after that!IMG_5453 IMG_5455 IMG_5457 IMG_5458

Every year they have a nice parade in “downtown” Brady.  It was pretty hot outside and looking back at the pictures Camila looks pretty miserable.  I guess you don’t realize how red their faces get until you see it after that fact.  Oh well, she survived and also got her first taste of popsicle, so that should be worth it!

Here are the boys with their candy bags just waiting to pick up the goodies thrown from the parade cars.

And here she is again looking pretty beat by all the heat!

I even brought a bottle to give her some cold water in.

This picture just cracks me up.  Love the glasses!

These 3 pictures just make me laugh.  I love the different expressions on the boys.  Marco was in his “ho hum” mood for awhile and Joaquin was just cheesin’ it up as usual.

Wild Patterns

Here are a few more pics of the skirt.  I guess I need to make a few more with different fabric.  I pick this one because it had so many colors in it, but it just doesn’t look right with the polka dots.  And combined with the blanket, that color/pattern combo sure is hard on the eyes!IMG_5439 IMG_5443 IMG_5447 IMG_5448

WOW, what a profile!! Look at those cheeks!!

Got Feet??

Everyone is getting into the feet action these days.  The boys wanted to show off there stretching skills by trying to put their feet in their mouth. YUCK!!!  At least Camila’s feet are mostly clean and don’t hang around in smelly shoes most of the day.

Camila’s new skirt

I decided to whip out the old sewing machine and make Camila a skirt to jazz up the plain onesies I have been putting her in this summer.  The first skirt I made was WAY to long (but I saved it for when she is two!).  When making this one, I thought it looked like a ruffled piece of scrap material.  That is how long it was…. barely 3 inches.  But it worked perfectly.

When I first saw this photo I thought, “Now where did that little puff of hair come from”  Then I realized it was just part of the blankets pattern.  Silly me!  And look, even Camila is surprised that the skirt turned out good!

Just like every baby her age, she loves to chew on just about anything.  So I am constantly telling the boys to keep their hands away from her mouth.  The response I get most of the time is “but she just put them in there!”  Yeah right boys, I don’t believe it for a second.

This is her most favorite object to put in her mouth at the moment..
