These pictures were taken at Hall’s Pumpkin Farm. The boys had fun playing in the hay house, making friends with scarecrows, and pretending to ride the tractors.
Joaquin doesn’t “officially” have allergies, but all this hay was sure making him sneeze.
I think Joaquin is getting a little tired of all this picture taking.
These were taken at our first Fall festival of the season. There was candy, games and popcorn. This is the first time they got to wear this year’s Halloween costumes, but it won’t be the last. I think we have about 4 more festivals on the calendar. (if we make to all them, of course) This one was like a practice run for the rest of them. :)

We had not been to a Lowes build and grow kid workshop in a long time, so we decided to go this Saturday. They each made a flying bat that is now hanging from our front window.

After Lowes, we went to the Bedford Fire Station open house. They do this once a year in October and the boys really enjoy it.
Marco could barely stand up with all the equipment on. It almost doesn’t look real.
This was our first year to go the campfire story session that the city of Hurst puts on every year. We met up with some friends and the kids all had a good time. The older ones got a little scared listening to the “ghost” stories but the younger ones didn’t seem to mind. Maybe they just weren’t quite old enough to get it.
Roasting marshmallows before the stories begin. Marco is not a big fan of marshmallows but he did like to put them in the fire. Joaquin on the other hand had himself a marshmallow (or 5!)
This year the boys actually helped with the pumpkin carving. They helped scoop out the inside and got to choose the design they wanted from a template book we had. We also roasted the pumpkins seeds and they were delicious.
Joaquin choose the witch design, which I carved. I think this may be my best carving yet. It also helps that we found a really cool strobe light at the dollar store that alternated different colors.
This is Marco’s pumpkin, which Hector carved. I must add that this is NOT the design Marco wanted but Hector is just not as skilled in pumpkin carving as I am. :) The top part of his design was a disaster, so Marco had to settle with a one-eyed monster. In the end though, he was pleased with the final outcome. Maybe he will get his spooky ghost in the trees next year.
Unfortunately the pumpkins were not meant to be. About a week after carving them we had a hard rain and water got inside the pumpkins. Two days later this is the result… black mold and a mushy mess. Needless to say, they were picked up in the garbage collection the next day.
I’m not quite sure when this got started, but when Marco was young (before Quin was born) he would pull his pants up really high and we would call him a viejito (little old man in spanish) . He thought it was so funny. Now, of course, Joaquin gets in on the action and it just cracks him up. I know when they get older, they will kill me for posting these but I could not resist.
This one should probably be “viejito loco!”
This one is my favorite. Joaquin kind of looks like the big brother due to the camera angle.
