Summer do and water fun

This is the second year we buzzed the boys’ hair for the summer.  It gets so hot here, they need a little break from all the curls every once in awhile.

The slip-n-slid…. the best dual purpose outside activity.  When you get thirsty why not take a quick drink.

Cheetah Girl

On Monday our weather went from a nice 85 degrees to a staggering 45 degrees.  I had to pull out the warm stuff for all the kids and this is what I found at the top of the pile for Camila.  It was a warm, fuzzy little outfit complete with a hood that had car ears on the top.  All day they boys called her cheetah girl, although the label showed a nice, innocent looking cat.  I was just glad when the weather warmed up the next day and we could put away the winter stuff once again.

This is how you know summer is just around the corner

Last year we started a new tradition.  It was called getting your summer “do”.  When the weather starts to warm up and the boys (well mostly Marco) start complaining  about their head getting all sweaty after running around outside, we know it is time to get the clippers out.  Since last year was the first time we did this, I was afraid that their curls would grow back differently or not at all.  But thankfully they all came back (Marco’s quite a bit faster than Joaquin’s) so we decided to do it again this year.  I guess all the old ladies at the grocery store will have to pat some other little boy’s curly head until M and J’s grow back.  :)

They look so different, don’t they?

Silly boys!

Camila was outside and witnessed the entire cutting of the curls.  This was her expression when seeing them for the first time with short hair.  It is almost as if she doesn’t recognize them.

Mommy shots

I realized that don’t have many pictures with me and Camila.  They are all of her alone or with the boys.  So while Hector was out playing golf we had a mini photo session with Marco as the photographer.  He got a few good ones, but then got bored with it and went on to do something else.

Contemplating her next move… oh wait, she is stuck in the bumbo

We went to see a good friend today and she mentioned that Camila looked a lot like Joaquin from a side view.  What do you think???  All I see are cheeks!!  (Not so sure about your observation, but love ya anyway Kellie)

Sister Sandwich

Some days when Hector gets home from work the boys like to jump on top of him and make a “Papi sandwich”.  So today we made our version of a “sister sandwich”.  I had to explain that there will be no sitting/jumping/lying on their sister for quite some time, if ever.

Marco is always asking to hold Camila so I try to give him every opportunity to do so.  It must be the way they are sitting in this pic, but Camila looks so much bigger than 3 months.

Love both of their expressions in this one.  I think soon after this was taken, Camila was done sitting with Marco.
