Where is the fashion police??

Hector dressed Camila today and was so proud of himself for picking the clothes out all by himself.  I didn’t have the heart to ask him if he bothered to turn the lights on…..until he asked me directly what I thought of the selections.  I didn’t just want to come right out and say they were awful so I asked him how he chose the selection.  He then proceeds to tell me how the pink in the shirt matched a pink in the pants.  I then had to explain to him that yes, those pinks just may happen to match, but a camo shirt, plaid pants and striped socks don’t really go together.  But since he was really trying and I’m sure she could care less, she rocked that outfit all day long!  :)

And then the next day he picks out this outfit for Marco to wear to church.  “What??!!  they are both plaid, doesn’t that match?” was the comment I got from him.  Needless to say, I did have Marco change his shirt before we left.  Good thing most of Hector’s clothes are khakis and solid color shirts.  Can’t really go wrong there.

First for everything

Today was Camila’s first time in tights.  I thought it would be a long time coming for this, but I broke down and tried it…. it wasn’t too bad.  I thought it was going to be hard to get those things on her and I didn’t really feel like struggling with that at every diaper change.  But they were surprising easy and she looked so cute in her little dress.  I’m sure we will be doing this again in the near future.

Notice her eyes are still a grey/blue color.  Maybe they won’t turn brown after all.  Only time will tell!

Camila and the boys

 IMG_4626IMG_4627 IMG_4628

Funny to see the progression of Camila’s decent down Joaquin’s lap in the first 3 pictures.  I had to rescue her from a possible (unintentional) choke hold after the 3rd shot

IMG_4608 Not sure if she is really happy, but at least she isn’t crying!IMG_4612

Wow, you can just feel the excitement in the above picture, can’t you?

There, that’s better…

For Nonni

Here are a few updated pictures of Camila.  I have been slow to post to the blog because sleep seems to be first priority these days.  Camila caught her first cold last week, but thankfully she is all better now and in much better spirits.  She is starting to smile alot and “talk” back to you when you talk to her.  The boys still love her more than anything and are always giving her smooches on the head.

My friend Kellie made me this wrap and this was the first time to try it out.  It is basically a long piece of fabric, but when tied correctly it works great. Camila will fall asleep in this and then I can go about my day doing all that need to be done.  Now if only I can convince Hector to wear it, we would be all set.  ( He seems to think he has an “out” if he is holding Camila and she falls asleep.  I think this is because he gets to take a nap himself too!)

Is that the ice cream truck I hear??

We were outside Tuesday afternoon and the boys heard the sweet sound of the ice cream truck.  We probably heard the music a good 15 min. before we actually saw the truck.  By that time, I was over the idea of getting ice cream (and I realized that I didn’t have any cash on hand)  But not to worry because wouldn’t you know the very next day we heard the ice cream music AGAIN!!  This time the boys and I were ready.  The crazy thing is, this was a different truck than yesterday and I have only seen the ice cream truck in our neighborhood a hand full of times since we have lived here.

IMG_4559 Notice truck in background.  He just sold to a highschool kid up the street. IMG_4560 Checking out the selections.

IMG_4561 IMG_4562 And there it goes.  Notice the slow sign on the back of the truck.  Well slow it was not!  It zoomed right past the neighbor across the street who was rushing outside to by some for her grandkids.

IMG_4563And the winner is…..  Strawberry Short Cake for Joaquin and Crunch Bar for Marco.  YUM!!

Movie Night

We tried out our twin air mattresses the other night when Marco and Joaquin wanted a movie night.  Hector’s parents were in town the previous week and slept on an air mattress in the living room and the boys thought that was the coolest thing and requested to sleep on it every night they were here.  Well, of course there would not be room for 4 people on one mattress!  Here is the end result of our first movie night.  Notice Joaquin, who jumps around the living room constantly during the day is perfectly positioned in the middle of his mattress while Marco is half way off of his.  And he kept sliding further and further off.  Not to worry folks, we moved him back onto the mattress after plenty of photos were taken.  :)IMG_4547 IMG_4544 IMG_4546
