Boys will be boys

The boys found the ride-on cars that I hide in the back room because they make so much noise when they ride them around on the tile.  So I figured that I would give them one last chance to ride them inside before I banished them to the backyard.  Even though Joaquin has a fireman hat on, he continued to tell me that he was a conductor.  Well, he does love his trains….

Girls Weekend

This past weekend some of my best girl friends came in town to celebrate Molly getting married later this summer.  Hector took the boys down to Tito and Tita’s house in Brady so we could have the house kid-free.  We had so much fun, it reminded me of our college days.  Now that all of us are either married and/or have children we were not as wild and crazy as back in the day but we did have some great laughs.

Rangers (again!)

We were lucky enough to score free Rangers tickets again through Hector’s connections. We let Marco try out the fun and games they have for the kids behind centerfield. Once we figured out their token system and waited in line for 15 minutes he got 10 chances to hit a ball with a very skinny bat. Also, I might add that the pitcher was a 16 yr old girl that looked bored out of her mind. He had fun, but I don’t think that will be a regular activity at future games we attend.

Joaquin Gym- part II

IMG_1164IMG_1177 IMG_1161                                                         This green mountain thing was one of his favorites in the obstacle course they have set up.

IMG_1171                                                    Here is my best mid-air shot of him jumping. He is such a dare devil.

IMG_1172 IMG_1166                                          Hanging on the mini bar. He preferred the high rise bar but I can't leave him hanging on that one just to get a picture. I think they would call that negligent parenting.

More action pics of Marco

In the middle of doing a cartwheel. His arms kind of gave out on him in the middle of the cartwheel and he ended up on his head. This one would have been a great video shot.

Back bend with a flip over at the end

Marco and the girls. Not sure where the other little boy ran off to.

Marco Gymnasics

Here is Marco in his gymnastics class. Marco has been participating in gymnastics at the Hurst Rec Center since he was 18 months old. He is now in the Tumbling Tots II class, which is the highest level he can go until it becomes a night class. He has learned so much, including cartwheels. This I am very proud of considering I never mastered the art of cartwheeling and to this day cannot do one correctly.

Back bend

Bear crawling backwards. I have tried this, and it is actually harder than it looks.

All smiles after performing a flip on the bar.
