We went to Grapevine’s Main Street Christmas but there was not much to do this year. I heard that at night the light display is really neat, but we only made it out in the daytime this year. Oh well, maybe we will try it again next year.
Mailing letters to Santa….
It was finally cold enough to break out the “bunny suits”. You know those warm footed pjs from your childhood that zip up to your neck and are so warm and fuzzy. They are all good, except when you have to go pee and take almost the whole thing off. Then they are not so good. But lets remember the good times.
Not sure how much longer Marco will be able to wear one of these, but I will try it every year until he protests. Or until I can’t find his size.

The boys start the count down to Christmas by making a paper ring chain. Marco is using his for the count down but Joaquin must have liked his too much because he doesn’t want to tear any rings off. So for now, it is just decoration.
Every year the boys get to pick out an ornament for the tree. I encourage them to pick something that reflects their interests of the current yea. I also pick out a picture frame ornament to display what they looked like that year. This is my favorite part of the tree… looking at how they have changed throughout the years. I suspect our tree will be filled with cars, trucks, and trains. And smiling, happy faces looking back at me.
This year Marco picked a race moto with fire decals.
J’s pick this year was a train. He already broke the caboose off, so I hope the engine will last for years to come.
The boys helped decorate the Christmas tree this year. It was interesting to see where they would place the ornaments without any direction from me or Hector. They seemed to cluster them all together, but maybe that is because they thought that we have more than we do. We are slowly accumulating ornaments one year at a time. Maybe when they are teenagers we will have a full assortment to decorate with.
This is a fun Christmas festival with games, bounce houses, arts and crafts and more. The one downside to this event is that they changed the location from last year. And apparently, the organizers didn’t take into account that the grass fields where the bounces houses were located were filled and I mean FILLED with grass stickers. The boys found this out the hard way as they ran from the end of one house to the other. Halfway I noticed both of them stop mid-stride and have a pained look on their face. Each sock was filled with these annoying stickers. (stuck in the socks because of course the rules are no shoes in the bounce house) Fortunately we were able to remove them all fairly quickly and recover with a candy cane.

Marco was sick on the day his preschool had their Pow-Wow. But he was a good sport and modeled his vest and headdress he created for the event. His name was Brave Shooting Star!
The little papoose they made makes me laugh. No Indian man or women is not complete without a little baby hanging around their neck.
This year we went to Brady, TX for Thanksgiving. After arriving early on Tuesday we took a little side trip on Wednesday to go visit friends in San Antonio. I wish I would have snapped some pictures of that but it was like I forgot I had my camera all weekend. But here of the pictures I did take, as random as they are.

Hector spent most of his time perfecting his BB shooting skills on the local pigeons. He did let the boys try it out. They weren’t too interested.

Gross Joaquin, quit kissing the dog!! They both keep asking when we will get a dog. I told them when Marco is 8. I just don’t know if I want to deal with house training a dog, or picking up it’s mess in the backyard. So I figure that an eight year could handle those duties. :)
