Colleyville Christmas festival

This is a fun Christmas festival with games, bounce houses, arts and crafts and more.  The one downside to this event is that they changed the location from last year.  And apparently, the organizers didn’t take into account that the grass fields where the bounces houses were located were filled and I mean FILLED with grass stickers.  The boys found this out the hard way as they ran from the end of one house to the other.  Halfway I noticed both of them stop mid-stride and have a pained look on their face.  Each sock was filled with these annoying stickers.  (stuck in the socks because of course the rules are no shoes in the bounce house)  Fortunately we were able to remove them all fairly quickly and recover with a candy cane.

Little Indian Boy

Marco was sick on the day his preschool had their Pow-Wow.  But he was a good sport and modeled his vest and headdress he created for the event.  His name was Brave Shooting Star!

 

The little papoose they made makes me laugh.  No Indian man or women is not complete without a little baby hanging around their neck. 

Thanksgiving in Brady

This year we went to Brady, TX for Thanksgiving.  After arriving early on Tuesday we took a little side trip on Wednesday to go visit friends in San Antonio.  I wish I would have snapped some pictures of that but it was like I forgot I had my camera all weekend.  But here of the pictures I did take, as random as they are.

Hector spent most of his time perfecting his BB shooting skills on the local pigeons.  He did let the boys try it out.  They weren’t too interested.

Gross Joaquin, quit kissing the dog!!  They both keep asking when we will get a dog.  I told them when Marco is 8.  I just don’t know if I want to deal with house training a dog, or picking up it’s mess in the backyard.  So I figure that an eight year could handle those duties.  :)

Christmas Ornaments

 Here they are painting their own ornaments.  They are now hanging on the tree, still face-less.  Maybe I will have them draw a self portrait since we got some different ornaments to put their yearly picture in. 

Making the baby box

One of the traditions I started with Marco was to paint a small wooden memory box before he was born.  Inside I put his sono pictures, arm band from the hospital, and a few other special items.  Because we did not know if he was going to be a boy or girl, it was painted a mixture of pink and blue.  Before Joaquin was born we let Marco paint his box.  And now that baby #3 is close to being born we let both boys paint the box.  They each picked out a wooden heart to paint for the baby as well.  They are so excited for the baby to be born.

  

Our latest Target pics

I like to have pictures taken of the the boys every 6 months-a year just for memory sake. Of course, being on the frugal side I use a coupon that allows me to choose one pose for a portrait package. Luckily, Target puts all the pictures taken on a special website that I can access and then transfer to this blog. Marco really wanted the snowflake background but I thought it was just too “cheesy” looking to choose as my one pose prints. I’m sure in ten years he will thank me for that! :)

And here is this year’s winner! Joaquin’s hair looks slightly red in this photo but maybe that is because his summer sun highlighting in fading.

Marco’s first trophy

Marco’s first soccer season officially ended this Sunday.  This was his second time playing on an organized team. (the first experience was in the spring when he played t-ball)  He informed me that he liked soccer the best because he got to run more.  (YES, that is music to a former soccer player’s ears)  It was fun to watch his team transform from the kids who just stood there and watched the other team score to the kids who were actually doing the scoring and chasing after the ball if they didn’t have it.  Way to go Major Trouble!!
